Mana Pools National Park
Location: Northern Zimbabwe
Climate: Oct-Apr hot and sunny, possibly afternoon thunderstorms but rare, Jun-Aug is cooler but still warm and dry, rain occurs mostly in Nov and March
Typical Landscape: Lush bushland with rolling hills, the Zambezi and lots of big game
Mana Pools is perhaps Zimbabwe’s most famous wildlife conservation area, and borders the Lower Zambezi in Zambia. There are a number of absolutely mind-blowing lodges here, which all benefit from fantastic game viewing, and not another soul in sight. The floodplain here turns into a broad expanse of lakes after ever rainy season, and as they gradually dry up and recede the region attracts many large animals in search of water. It is one of Africa’s most renowned game viewing regions.
