Why we love it: We were blown away by both of these properties on a recent reccy to Northern Tanzania – we visited over 40 properties all of which were top end and these two camp out best every time. Manyara Ranch offers a freedom which is not common in Northern Tanzania, as it’s on a private ranch you can walk, have bush dinners and ride as well as day and night drives – the game here is abundant not to mention the fantastic views of the Rift Valley escarpment, the lovely camp and the fantastic staff. Lamai Nomad also offers freedom in the far North of the Serengeti – built into the rocks this camp has had virtually no environmental impact but offers luxury safaris at their best with excellent guides and the most charming homely lodge we’ve ever seen.
