Olakira Migrational Camp pays tribute to an age when the merchants travelling from North Africa crossed the Serengeti on the backs of camels en route to trade spices and ivory along the East Coast of Africa. This stunning mobile camp is mainly constructed of wood and canvas reflecting the traditional safari style, with just a hint of the north of Africa with a subtle Moroccan theme running throughout also.

Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with hot running water, a flushing toilet, and an authentic outdoor bucket shower. You will also have a private veranda that you can lounge on and enjoy the views of the surrounding areas. The mesh covered stargazing tents allow guests to sleep under a sky of glittering stars.

Rich, handwoven rugs line the floors in the mess tent, where burnished copper lanterns glow into the night. Dinner is served either in the dining tent or under the African night sky. Afterwards, trade stories of the day’s sightings beside the crackling campfire.

Meals are prepared in the camp with a selection of western and African dishes to choose from. If you want to take a picnic on your game drives or other excursions, the onsite chefs will be accommodating, creating a feast to take into the bush.

Offering an unforgettable experience, the mobile Olakira camp follows the wildebeest migration around the Serengeti from the epic crocodile filled Mara River crossing in the north to the southern plains where they give birth to thousands of calves each year.
