South Lake Malawi
Lake Malawi has long been known as one of the World’s cleanest fresh water lakes – the lake drains an area larger than Malawi itself but only one river, the Shire, flows from it. The Southern Lakeshore is far more commercial than the North and the bays here are much calmer, as they’re slightly more sheltered than those in the North. Lake Malawi National Park itself is located at Cape Maclear.
