Raas Jodphur
What we love: the rooms with a view of the Fort.
The Raas was Jodhpur’s first boutique hotel. Formerly the home of the aristocratic Thakur family, it was created by the conversion of four original buildings and adding three additional structures allowing for a fascinating mix of old and new. Almost every room has views to the Mehrangarh Fort which looms some 400 feet above the Jodhpur skyline and when it is lit in the evenings the views are spectacular. Within the Raas’s walls is a heated swimming pool, a relaxing spa, gardens and terraces. The 39 luxurious rooms and suites are split between the old and the new buildings and most have wonderful views of the Fort. There are two restaurants giving guests a huge choice of cuisines and a great open air café situated above the Step Well and a lot of Jodhpur’s daily life can be viewed from here. The hotel is also delighted to set up private dining for guests in a number of different locations. The Raas also has a extensive list of outings that they have put together and it is well worth taking advantage of their local knowledge to maximise your stay in Jodhpur. And as if the shopping isn’t good enough, the Raas have their own branch of the world famous Gem Palace from Jaipur. Take advantage of the hotel’s tuk tuk to travel around the Blue City.
